Chief Financial Officer

S&W has been retained by The Bank of Bennington (thebankofbennington.com) to manage the search and selection process for the bank’s next Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”).

Headquartered in Bennington, Vermont, The Bank of Bennington is a 105-year-old, mutually chartered community bank that serves the financial needs of its consumer and small business customers in southwestern Vermont. The bank has approximately $560MM in total assets and operates 5 retail locations in Bennington, Manchester, Arlington, and Rutland. As a federal savings association (the only one in Vermont and one of only a handful of national mutual banks in the country), the bank is regulated by the OCC. The bank has an approximately $360MM loan portfolio, 77% of which is secured by 1-4 family residential loans, and is in sound financial condition, notably with 10.23% core capital ($52MM).

Reporting to the bank’s President & CEO, the CFO will join a small and collaborative senior leadership team. As currently organized, in addition to the bank’s finance & accounting team, the CFO also leads deposit operations and wealth management. Once acclimated to the bank’s culture, the CFO will lead the modernization of systems and processes in this critical department. We are seeking exceptional finance and accounting talent for this unique community bank leadership role. For additional information, please contact a member of the S&W search team: Cameron Boyd, Managing Partner, Financial Services (cboyd@smithandwilkinson.com) or Moriah Maron, Associate, Financial Services (mmaron@smithandwilkinson.com).
