Emergency Preparedness Planner

Our client, the Horsley Witten Group, is an engineering and environmental consulting firm nationally recognized as an expert in providing Emergency Response & Preparedness training for drinking water and wastewater utility operations.


They are looking to hire an experienced resiliency planner, environmental engineer, scientist, or training professional to manage and lead emergency preparedness training for our nation’s water infrastructure.


As a training lead and project manager, you will assess and develop emergency response practices for utilities and conduct training to ensure they are prepared for natural and man-made disasters. Training events will range from seminars and workshops to discussion-based and operations-based exercises.

  • Development and delivery of training for utility managers and operators
  • Communicating and coordinating with planning teams that include local, state, and federal partners
  • Developing event agendas and training objectives
  • Leading and facilitating discussions on a wide variety of topics
  • Identifying action items and supporting clients in their achievement of those items



  • 7+ years of experience in the environmental, planning, or emergency management sector
  • Candidates with less than this range of experience will also be considered and are encouraged to apply if interested.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
