Smith & Wilkinson has been retained by American Eagle Financial Credit Union (“American Eagle,” “AEFCU”) to manage the search for the organization’s next Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO). With $2.6B in assets, 375 team members, and 168,000 members as of August 2025, American Eagle is the largest community credit union in Connecticut and among the largest in New England. Its mission – to enrich the lives of their communities to create a world where financial freedom is a reality – guides the organization and will be at the center of this critical role.
Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CPCO will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and lead teams across People and Culture Enablement, Inclusion and Diversity, Total Rewards, Process Excellence and Data Analytics. The CPCO will champion an engaged, inclusive, and collaborative workplace that reflects and supports the communities AEFCU serves; build scalable systems, processes, and programs that translate AEFCU’s purpose-driven culture into business practice; and serve as a cultural leader, collaborator, and innovator to drive transformation alongside the Executive Leadership Team.
