Mass Bankers Selects Joseph Colagiovanni as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
May 2025 – Smith & Wilkinson was retained by its long-time client, the Massachusetts Bankers Association (Mass Bankers), to manage the search and selection process for the organization’s next SVP, Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Widely regarded as one of the top state banking associations in the country, Mass Bankers sought a strategic and technically strong financial leader to join its collaborative executive team. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO plays a critical role in the financial stewardship of the association and its subsidiaries, supporting the organization’s advocacy, educational programming, and member service initiatives, and engaging regularly with the Board of Directors and key external partners.
Following a comprehensive search process, Mass Bankers selected Joseph Colagiovanni, CPA, for this important leadership position. A resident of Norwood, Joseph spent 13 years with the Cambridge-based Harvard Cooperative Society, a 144-year-old cultural institution, where he served as Corporate Controller and led the organization’s accounting and financial operations. He began his career in the Boston office of PwC, building a strong technical foundation in audit and accounting. Joseph earned his MBA from Boston College and his Bachelor of Science from Providence College.
