OneLocal Selects Jeff Smith as Director of Technology
Due to the planned retirement of the bank’s longtime head of IT, OneLocal (www.onelocalbank.com) selected S&W to manage the search and selection process for the bank’s Director of Technology. OneLocal was created in late 2022 when Norwood Bank and Foxboro Federal Savings, both Massachusetts-based mutual banks, merged to create a “larger, stronger community bank that is better able to invest in people, technology, products, and services.” The brand of the organization was chosen to emphasize the bank’s commitment to being a local, independent, mutual community bank with the mission of helping families, businesses, and communities to prosper. The bank offers a full suite of consumer and business deposit and loan solutions, all accessible via online and mobile platforms as well as in-person in the bank’s 4 retail locations in eastern Massachusetts, allowing customers to bank when and where they choose. OneLocal is in excellent financial condition and is consistently at the top of its peer group for capital and earnings.
Following an exhaustive recruitment process that targeted technology leaders from area community financial institutions, OneLocal selected Jeff Smith as the bank’s Director of Technology. A resident of Brockton, Mr. Smith most recently served as Vice President, Information Technology Officer for $1.2B Bluestone Bank, where he had been for 11 years through the combination of Mansfield Bank and Bridgewater Savings Bank. His earlier career included technology roles not only in financial services, but also in entertainment, higher education, and consumer products.
The S&W search team included Darcy Flaherty, Senior Associate, and Cameron Boyd, Managing Partner.
