American Eagle Financial Credit Union appoints Simeon Chapin as Chief Community Officer

Hartford, CT, April 17, 2025 — American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU), Connecticut’s largest community credit union, is proud to announce the appointment of Simeon Chapin as its first-ever Chief Community Officer. In this newly created role, Mr. Chapin will lead the credit union’s community engagement, philanthropic initiatives, and strategic partnerships. He will be responsible for aligning AEFCU’s mission-driven values with programs and investments that foster long-term, measurable impact for individuals, families, and neighborhoods throughout Connecticut.

Mr. Chapin brings a decade of leadership experience at the intersection of social impact, financial services, and community development. Most recently, he served as Head of Social Impact at Vermont State Employees Credit Union (VSECU), where he led the credit union’s purpose-driven programs, community partnerships, and member engagement strategies. Known for his collaborative mindset and passion for equity and inclusion, Mr. Chapin has a proven track record of building impactful community initiatives that strengthen both people and place.
