Kennebec Savings Bank selects Kristine Avery as Chief Human Resources Officer (“CHRO”)
Founded in 1870 and headquartered in Augusta, Maine, Kennebec Savings Bank (“KSB”) is a highly regarded, well-run mutual bank serving consumer and business customers throughout the state of Maine. The bank has approximately $1.4B in total assets, operates 7 retail locations, and complements its offerings with competitive mobile and online solutions. In 2021, KSB’s financial results were excellent, with significant growth in assets, loans, deposits, income, capital, and contributions to the bank’s Charitable Foundation. The bank is an outstanding corporate citizen, and as a mutually held savings bank, it “takes pride in giving back in meaningful ways to the neighborhoods in which we work and raise our families.”
“The selection of Kris Avery as CHRO struck us as the right combination of expertise, leadership, and cultural fit. Like community FI’s everywhere, KSB needs to navigate an increasingly complex employment landscape of candidate and employee expectations, trends, and legal frameworks, and a savvy industry veteran like Kris is perfect for the bank’s current and future needs. That she and her family have deep personal ties in the bank’s market area is icing on the cake.” Cameron Boyd, Managing Partner, Financial Services Practice.
At the conclusion of the CHRO search, the leadership team at KSB selected Kristine Avery to lead its human resources function and to join its collaborative senior management team. A career human resources professional, Ms. Avery is a well-known and respected leader in the Maine HR community. She spent a total of 15 years with FISC Solutions (Financial Services Corporation) in Lewiston and 10 years as head of human resources for Portland-based Infinity Credit Union. Most recently, Ms. Avery spent 9 years as CHRO for Saint Joseph’s College and is an active leader in SHRM.
