Reading Cooperative Bank Selects Charlene Jancsy as Chief Human Resources Officer
October 2025 – Smith & Wilkinson was retained by Reading Cooperative Bank (RCB) to manage the search and selection process for the Bank’s next EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), following the transition of its longtime Human Resources leader.
A Massachusetts-based mutual bank guided by its “people over profits, every time” philosophy, RCB continues to evolve and grow. At the time of the search, and following the Bank’s merger with Wakefield Cooperative Bank, RCB employed approximately 120 individuals and had grown to roughly $1.2B in total assets. As a progressive, technology-forward organization with strong financial performance and deep community roots, RCB sought a strategic HR executive to help lead its next chapter.
Following a comprehensive search process spanning a diverse range of industries, RCB selected Charlene Jancsy for this critical leadership role. Charlene brings more than 25 years of human resources experience in the financial services industry, primarily with Enterprise Bank and Cambridge Savings Bank. Most recently, she served as SVP, Talent Management Director at Enterprise Bank, where she was a key member of the HR leadership team and oversaw succession planning and leadership development across the organization. Throughout her career, she has been recognized as a strategic, people-first leader whose philosophy closely aligns with RCB’s commitment to community and mutual banking.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Framingham State University, holds a Professional Certificate in Human Resources Management from Bentley University, and is a SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional).
Charlene resides in Wakefield and remains deeply engaged in her community, currently serving as a Director for Girls, Inc. of Greater Lowell and previously serving for more than a decade on the Greater Lowell Workforce Development Board.
