Engineering Division Manager (Water Resources/Public Works)

The Engineering Division Manager is a professional technical management role responsible for providing engineering services to the Water Resource Protection Department and Public Works Department. Projects will involve wastewater, stormwater, and civil/transportation engineering. Duties include a variety of engineering services, such as overseeing the wastewater treatment facility and pump station upgrades or modifications, managing the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Facility Plan, leading the Asset Management Program, and overseeing the design and construction of roads and utilities. The role includes managing engineering consultants, supporting staff with operations, maintenance, and improvements, performing construction administration on projects, and interfacing with government agencies, such as the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Transportation.

 

The position reports to the Director of Water Resource Protection, leads the Engineering Division, and has supervision and mentorship of two staff members, the Civil/Transportation Engineer and the Senior CAD Technician, with functional supervision over some duties of the Field Inspector.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engineering design, planning, grading and drainage, utility, and stormwater.
  • Be responsible for preparing and reviewing project approaches, scopes, and budget.
  • Assist with the development of strategic initiatives for the City’s infrastructure, including streets and roads.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • BS or graduate degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering,
  • Approximately 5 or more years of experience in Civil Engineering/Municipal Infrastructure/ Asset Management
  • Experience with the use of Revit and Civil 3D for design.
  • Adept at project management and oversight and the ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Professional Engineering License.
