Senior Wetland Scientist / Project Manager

Our client, a specialized environmental firm in the Boston area is expanding their wetland and permitting team and looking to hire a Senior Wetland Scientist. This is a Project Manager position leading projects, and providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff. The work is focused on wetland delineations, permitting, and regulatory requirements to support local projects throughout New England, specifically in MA & NH.

Projects will focus on a variety of wetland resource area delineations, habitat and rare species surveys, and permitting for coastal and freshwater environments. Clients are from various sectors, such as public (municipal, federal, state), commercial development, telecom, transportation, and occasionally energy and residential.

Our client stands out from the crowd in the wetland and permitting field as they hold to keeping the work week limited to that elusive 40 hours a week and not the above-and-beyond expectations that are so common.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage fieldwork to delineate wetlands, design and assess wetland mitigation areas
  • Complete habitat assessments, permitting, and regulatory requirements
  • Work with local municipal, state, and federal regulatory agencies
  • Interacting with clients, representing the firm in a professional manner

Qualifications:

  • B.A/B.S. or M.S. Degree in an environmentally oriented field of study (Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, etc.)
  • A Professional Wetland Scientist license is required
