Carll Wilkinson is the President and CEO of Smith & Wilkinson. He consults with Community Banks, Credit Unions, Insurance Carriers, and related financial services companies, helping his clients to solve talent problems. Since taking over the firm in 2013, Carll has been instrumental in growing the organization and diversifying the services offered to include Executive Coaching, Group Leadership Development, and CEO Succession services. Carll has personally managed hundreds of C-Suite executive searches, including several dozen CEO search or succession projects. He is a trusted advisor to Boards, CEOs, and leadership teams across the United States.
Carll earned his BA from Fordham University, where he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Married with three children, Carll is a youth sports coach, Sugarloafer, woodworker, and singer/songwriter, and can be found on Spotify and iTunes.
Charlotte Anderson is a certified coach and a member of the International Coaching Federation. She helps leaders transform personally and professionally, and in doing so, achieve peak performance in ways that embrace their unique purpose, style and skills.
Charlotte spent over 30 years in the banking industry, most recently as Senior Vice President/Operations for Fulton Financial Corporation, one of the largest banks in Pennsylvania, where she managed large and diverse teams across a variety of disciplines. After many years of coaching and mentoring, she realized that this was her passion and, she became a Certified Coach. Her education and experience cover a broad spectrum of management, operations, and leadership topics.
When Charlotte is not coaching, she enjoys her free time traveling and considers herself a lifelong learner through travel and education.
Chris Kelley
Senior Partner, Director, Financial Services Practice
As a Partner in the Financial Services Practice, Chris provides professional level, director level, and C-Suite search services to Community & Regional banks in the Northeast & Midwest. Chris focuses on working with banks between $200MM to $10B in assets, and in addition to conducting numerous CEO searches; he has successfully completed dozens of searches in the areas of commercial, consumer, and residential lending, retail banking, technology, credit, risk, audit, compliance, operations, finance and accounting, and wealth management. He is active in numerous state banking associations, and is a frequent attendee of association events. In addition to providing exceptional service to his clients and candidates, Chris is also a member of Smith & Wilkinson’s leadership team, helping to shape the firm’s strategic priorities and growth initiatives.
Prior to joining Smith & Wilkinson, Chris ran his own business for six years, and prior to that managed sales teams for two Fortune 500 companies for eight years. His business and management experiences have given him valuable insight into the art of identifying and hiring the right person for a position. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of New Hampshire. Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, coaching youth sports, and rooting for the Pats, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins.
Before joining Smith & Wilkinson, Colin spent 6 years in the insurance industry in multiple roles, primarily specializing in Short Term Disability claims. He received his BA in Business Administration from Eastern Connecticut State University. Outside of work, Colin can usually be found running, golfing, or at the beach.
Darcy Flaherty
Senior Associate, Financial Services Practice
Before joining Smith and Wilkinson, Darcy spent 16 years as a Higher Education professional in Undergraduate Admissions helping students and families find the right fit for college. She oversaw the first-year undergraduate team, where they connected with thousands of families and school counselors all over the country. She graduated with a BS in Human Development and Family Studies followed by a MS in College Student Personnel from the University of Rhode Island. Outside of work, Darcy enjoys spending time with her three small children, jamming out to soulful music, and dreaming of Maine summers.
As Chief Operating Officer, David coordinates operations, technology, people, & strategy to enable the high performing team at Smith & Wilkinson. David brings significant leadership, operations, & strategy experience from the military and business worlds.
David earned his MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and his BA from Lycoming College, where he was captain of the Men’s Soccer team. After undergrad he served in US Army Special Forces as a Green Beret, graduated Ranger School, and deployed to Afghanistan. David lives in South Portland with his wife, Molly, and border collie, Swanson
Drew Rand, Ph.D., is an Industrial and Organizational Psychologist and seasoned consultant with expertise in psychological and behavioral assessments for individuals and organizations. His work primarily centers on leadership selection and development, helping clients identify and grow top talent. Drew earned his Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
As the Director of Marketing, Emily designs our marketing materials, manages our website, ensures all outgoing documents meet our branding standards, manages our social media accounts, creates and distributes quarterly newsletters, and assists Account Executives with research, presentations, and content writing. She works closely with each department to ensure our client’s needs are met.
Emily has two bachelor’s degrees from Roger Williams University; one in graphic design and one in public relations. Prior to joining Smith & Wilkinson, Emily spent over 5 years working in non-profit in a variety of marketing and communication roles. She also worked at Puma on their global eCommerce team and spent 3 years with a web design start-up. She’s proficient in graphic design, web management, writing, and creating social media content. Emily is very excited to call Portland, Maine home after living in Savannah, Georgia for three years and Boston for five years. She enjoys spending time with her new daughter and husband, running, trying new restaurants in Portland, scary movies, and reading (specifically Harry Potter!)
Felicia O’Reilly is an Analyst working for Smith & Wilkinson’s Financial Services Practice that is committed to helping clients succeed. Felicia graduated from Bryant University with a B.S. in Applied Economics and a double minor in Finance and Communication. Born and raised in Scarborough, ME, Felicia spent some time after college waitressing and temping at a local accounting firm before joining the Smith & Wilkinson team. Outside of work, Felicia likes to spend time with her friends and family and can often be seen out on the golf course or travelling around New England.
Harrison Hines is an Associate in Smith & Wilkinson’s Insurance Practice. Before joining Smith & Wilkinson, Harrison spent 10 years working in a business development capacity for a national B2B event organizer, serving many different industries throughout the United States.
Harrison received his B.B.A. from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine with a focus in Management and Marketing. Originally from a small town “Down East”, he now lives in Southern Maine with his wife and two young children.
Outside of work you can usually find Harrison chasing his kids around outside, on the baseball field, or enjoying the coast of Maine.
Julia Crouter
Senior Associate, Financial Services Practice
Julia Crouter is a Senior Associate on Smith & Wilkinson’s Financial Services Practice with over a decade of experience providing white glove client service. Prior to joining Smith & Wilkinson, Julia worked on the Preferred Banking team with First Republic Bank to foster and expand consumer and commercial client relationships. She received her B.A. in Government from Colby College, in Waterville Maine.
Outside of work, Julia is an avid reader and can be found testing out the Portland restaurant scene, planning trips abroad, and exploring Maine with her dog, Kevin.
Moriah Maron
Director of Recruiting, Financial Services Practice
Moriah Maron is the Director of Recruiting in Smith & Wilkinson’s Financial Services Practice.
Moriah is a people-person energized by others and committed to making a positive impact and building long-lasting relationships. As Director of Recruiting, Moriah plays a pivotal role in optimizing and streamlining the fulfillment process within the Financial Services practice to best serve S&W’s clients, candidates, and team. Moriah also serves as a full-cycle recruiter, managing key executive searches with a focus on process and execution ensuring the best experience for clients and candidates alike. Moriah has conducted numerous C-Suite searches, including several CEO engagements, for financial institutions between $100MM and $10B. Moriah began her career in international education and believes that her desire to connect with culturally conscious citizens and future global leaders provides her with a foundation to build relationships across the industry. Moriah is enthusiastic about everything Maine has to offer and outside of work enjoys being outside, traveling, and exploring this great state and the world with friends, family, and her partner.
As a Partner within our Financial Services practice, Nate Townsend leverages his market expertise and consultative approach to build value on behalf of Financial Institutions across the United States. Nate’s engagements have included executive positions, business line leaders, and skilled individual contributor roles whose positions primarily fall within commercial, residential and consumer lending, credit, risk, audit, technology, compliance, retail, marketing, finance and accounting, and operations.
Prior to joining Smith & Wilkinson, Nate held various sales, consulting, and business development roles specializing in creating sustained value for financial institutions and government municipalities. Nate earned a B.B.A from Ohio University in Athens, OH with a focus on Marketing & Sales. Originally from Akron, OH, he now lives in Saco, ME with his partner Carly and their dog, Ruby. For fun, they love to get outside, explore, and take advantage of everything this great state has to offer.
Quin Peel has over 18 years experience in the financial services industry. Early in his career, he reached success in the mortgage industry as a Senior Loan Officer. Following this early success, Quin joined the operational side of financial services, quickly working his way up to become Director of Relationship Management at a local credit card processing company.
Prior to Smith & Wilkinson, Quin was the Director of Operations at Beach Glass Transitions, LLC and was responsible for the finance, accounting, and all operational policies and procedures. During his tenure, Quin has developed strong sales and operational capacities, and has been responsible for all aspects of hiring, training, and managing his teams within these roles.
Quin grew up in Ottawa, Ontario and graduated from the University of Maine, Orono with a B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance. While at UMaine, Quin played varsity baseball, and in his spare time, he enjoys time with his wife, Lynn, and their two children, as well as spending time training for road races, snowboarding, playing hockey and golfing.
Sharon Dorsett is an organizational psychologist, experienced executive coach, and business consultant. In addition to her work in executive coaching and leadership development, Sharon also focuses on team-building, group facilitation, change management and organization development.
Whether coaching a seasoned executive or a new leader, Sharon focuses on energizing and challenging individuals to discover barriers to success and increase leadership capabilities. Sharon works with teams to increase group and individual performance through awareness and surfacing of underlying issues that inhibit the work process and effectiveness of organizational groups, teams and functional units.
Sharon graduated from Kenyon College and holds a PhD in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. She is a certified executive coach, Hogan Assessment, Leadership Circle 360, and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) administrator.
As a Managing Partner in the Insurance Practice, Stacy provides professional level, manager level, and executive level search services to Property & Casualty Insurance Carriers, Agencies, TPAs, Re-Insurers, and Insurtech companies across the country. Stacy has partnered with regional and specialty carriers on a variety of hiring initiatives, with specific functional experience in Data Analytics, Technology, Actuarial, and Product Management roles.
Prior to joining Smith & Wilkinson, Stacy spent 15 years making television shows for networks like ABC, Bravo, and The Food Network as a producer in New York City. During this time she cultivated her interviewing, story-telling, and management skills creating prime time, award nominated programs. She received her BA in Communications from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and outside of work Stacy enjoys playing tennis, running 5Ks, cooking, a good pun, and winter beach walks with her husband Nathan and their two daughters- one human and one canine.
Steve Peary
Partner, Director, Financial Services Practice
As a Partner in the Financial Services Practice, Steve Peary provides professional level, director level, and executive level search and talent advisory services to financial institutions throughout the country. His engagements have included C-suite positions, line of business executives, and board of director roles for community banks and credit unions ranging from $200MM to $50B in assets.
Steve received his BA from the University of Maine at Orono. Outside of work Steve can be found coaching or watching his 3 children’s sports, and in his free times enjoys taking advantage of all the State of Maine has to offer with spending time on the water and skiing in the Winter.
Wade Shows is the Director of Learning and Organizational Effectiveness within Kaiser Permanente’s National Sales & Account Management lines of business. Wade’s first career was in leading business development teams in local, regional and national markets, achieving mutual success through dynamic teaming and high trust client engagement.
Wade works with key business partners in Human Resources, Workforce Development and other Learning and Organizational Effectiveness leaders across the organization to align, coordinate, and advance key initiatives that enhance the talent, skills, readiness, mindsets, and engagement needed for sustainable performance.
Outside of Kaiser, Wade is an experienced executive coach who helps his clients identify roadblocks, see new perspectives, and build on their strengths to reach new levels of personal and professional growth. He works with both individuals and teams.
Wade received his B.A in History and Russian from University of California, Irvine, and his Masters of Science in Organization Development from Pepperdine University. He is also certified in Leadership Circle 360, DiSC, Facilitation, Organizational Diagnosis and Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration.
Walker Robinson is an Analyst working for Smith & Wilkinson’s Insurance Practice that is committed to helping clients succeed. Walker graduated from Hobart College with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies. Raised in Kennebunk, ME, Walker spent time working on a 58ft Schooner which sailed around the Gulf of Maine before joining Smith & Wilkinson. Outside of work, Walker likes to surf, go hiking with his two Newfoundland dogs, and play Men’s League Hockey.
William Wegener
Senior Associate, Financial Services Practice
William Wegener is a Senior Associate in Smith & Wilkinson’s Financial Services Practice.
Before joining Smith & Wilkinson, William spent 8 years working throughout New England in the telecommunications industry focusing on sales development, leadership and talent acquisition. His most recent experience was in developing and leading a regional recruiting team for one of the top wireless corporations nationally. He takes pride in a consultative and ‘servant heart’ approach to business.
Outside of the office, you can find William enjoying a round of golf, exploring the Maine outdoors or visiting one of the many local eateries Portland has to offer. He currently resides in Southern Maine with his wife and young family.
